Doctors gave him just two years to live. But this person defied the odds, living for over 50 years with the condition.

Our mystery figure is best known for his work in theoretical physics. His contributions to our understanding of black holes and cosmology have been profound.
He proposed that black holes emit radiation, which is now known as Hawking radiation.

Despite his physical limitations, our mystery person remained active in public life. He was an author of several popular science books, including one that was a best-seller for more than four years.
He also appeared in several TV shows and was portrayed in a successful Hollywood movie.
